Omega Seamaster

This watch not only came in for a full movement service, but as the customer wanted to continue to use this watch for diving, some work was required on the case to ensure it remained water resistant to 300m as Omega intended!

Even though these watches have a solid case back, the Omega 1120 is a wonderfully decorated movement and very attractive.

While the movement is being cleaned, attention can be turned to the case itself. The gaskets can be replaced and lubricated to ensure water resistance is maintained.

After everything had been re-assembled and re-lubricated using the correct oils, the movement was re-cased.

When the work was complete, this watch was ready to carry on its duties as a treasured timepiece once again. A lovely watch!

After the movement was removed from the case, disassembly could begin ready for the parts to be cleaned. The dial on this era of Seamaster really is gorgeous.

After the autowind assembly is removed, you can see the wheel train and the hacking lever which allows the second hand to be stopped when the crown is pulled out.

This is also involved completely stripping the helium release valve mechanism which is an iconic design cue on the Seamaster...

Sometimes after a service, a watch requires several adjustments to ensure good timekeeping. This Omega was running beautifully almost immediately!
